M46 Patton Tank - In Korea, its 90 mm main gun was able to destroy the North Korean (Russian built) T-34/85 tanks and fire rounds against bunkers and fortifications. During the latter part of the war it was used for indirect fire support.
The M46 remained with troops in Korea well after the war because the armistice restricted new weapons being introduced to the theater.

Served 18 months Heavy tank company 1st Inf Div 1955-56. The M46 was a great tank with the main weak spot being the hydraulic hoses leading to the hydrostatic transmission, good drivers soon learned how not to blow a hose. Starting the old gals in the winter time was a fine art. Open the back deck, remove air cleaner hoses, throw a cup of gas into each carb and with a crewman with fire extinguisher on the back deck hit the starter. Most often would belch fire out of the carbs and start running
